Candidates should expect to work with engineering drawings, tooling, offsets and production quality checks.
Responsibilities
- Set, operate or program CNC machinery according to the level described in the source advert
- Read engineering drawings and check tolerances before and during machining
- Select tools, load programs, set offsets and adjust feeds or speeds where authorised
- Inspect components using verniers, micrometers, gauges or CMM support as required
- Record production, inspection and non-conformance information clearly
- Work with setters, programmers, quality and production leads to improve cycle time and reduce scrap
Requirements
- CNC machining experience on mills, lathes, routers or turn-mill equipment relevant to the role
- Able to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances
- Confident using common inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges
- Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, Siemens or similar controls is useful
- Careful approach to quality, tool wear, offsets and machine housekeeping
