About the role

Candidates should expect a production environment with visual inspection, batch deadlines and close work with supervisors or quality teams.
Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG, TIG or fabrication work to the process and drawings specified in the source advert
- Prepare materials, check fit-up and maintain weld cleanliness before inspection
- Read weld symbols, fabrication drawings or job cards before starting each build
- Use workshop equipment safely, including grinders, clamps, jigs, lifting aids and measuring tools
- Self-check completed work and raise defects, drawing issues or material problems early
- Keep the welding bay tidy and follow site safety, PPE and hot-work procedures
Requirements
- Recent welding or fabrication experience in a manufacturing, engineering or workshop setting
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings, job cards or weld symbols
- Comfortable working to production targets without dropping quality standards
- Good awareness of safe manual handling, PPE and workshop housekeeping
- Relevant coding, apprenticeship or practical weld-test evidence where requested by the employer
