Wood CNC Machinist – Doncaster (DN9) We’re looking for an experienced Wood CNC Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Doncaster (DN9) . This is a stable, long-term role with great hours and competitive pay. Candidates should expect to work with engineering drawings, tooling, offsets and production quality checks.

Responsibilities

  • Set, operate or program CNC machinery according to the level described in the source advert
  • Read engineering drawings and check tolerances before and during machining
  • Select tools, load programs, set offsets and adjust feeds or speeds where authorised
  • Inspect components using verniers, micrometers, gauges or CMM support as required
  • Record production, inspection and non-conformance information clearly
  • Work with setters, programmers, quality and production leads to improve cycle time and reduce scrap

Requirements

  • CNC machining experience on mills, lathes, routers or turn-mill equipment relevant to the role
  • Able to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances
  • Confident using common inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges
  • Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, Siemens or similar controls is useful
  • Careful approach to quality, tool wear, offsets and machine housekeeping
