CNC Milling Machinist

About the role

CareerMakers Recruitment are seeking an manual/CNC lathe machinist For our client based in Cross Hills, BD20. We are looking for someone with the relevant experience in the following: Programming, setting, and operating a range of CNC machines (in particular Doosan HM630 and Trevisan 31i) Accurately setting machines right first time Carrying out self - inspection of work to ensure quality Working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Suggesting and implementing improvements to existing machin… This is a quality-focused manufacturing role where documentation, inspection discipline and clear escalation protect the customer and the production process. Candidates should expect close work with production, engineering and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-process, final or release checks according to the source advert and site procedures
• Record inspection results, deviations and non-conformances accurately
• Use measuring, laboratory or test equipment relevant to the product and industry
• Support root-cause investigations and containment activity when defects are found
• Work with production teams to maintain standards without slowing the line unnecessarily
• Keep quality records audit-ready and escalate out-of-specification results promptly

Requirements

• Quality, inspection, laboratory or technical experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good written documentation habits and attention to detail
• Able to follow controlled procedures and understand why traceability matters
• Comfortable challenging product quality issues professionally on the shop floor
• Industry-specific standards such as GMP, BRC, ISO 9001, AS9100 or IPC are useful where relevant
