Injection Mould Setter
About the role
Berry Global manufactures plastic packaging, closures and engineered components for consumer, healthcare and industrial customers. The Leamington Spa operation is a high-volume injection-moulding environment where machine availability, tool-change discipline and first-off quality decide whether production hits plan. This Injection Mould Setter role covers tool changes, process set-up and troubleshooting across a mixed fleet including Engel and Arburg machines. You'll work with production, quality and maintenance teams to bring tools on safely, validate first-offs and hand over a stable cycle to operators. The role needs someone who understands the craft behind moulding: temperature profiles, clamp force, shot size, cooling, material drying and the small parameter changes that turn scrap into repeatable output. It is hands-on, technical and very visible on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute mould changes safely within target changeover windows
- Set barrel temperatures, pressures, speeds, clamp force and cooling to approved process sheets
- Validate first-off parts with quality before handing a stable cycle to production
- Troubleshoot common moulding defects such as flash, short shot, sink, burn marks and warpage
- Coordinate with toolroom and maintenance on tool condition, water leaks, heaters and ancillary faults
- Keep process records updated so repeat runs can be restarted consistently
- Support operators with basic process checks and escalation points during the shift
Requirements
- 3+ years injection moulding setting experience
- Comfortable with Engel & Arburg controls
- Practical understanding of polymers, drying, colour changes and hot-runner systems
- Able to read process sheets, quality standards and basic tool drawings
- FLT / crane / lifting-slinger experience useful for tool moves
