Paint Shop Preparation Technician / Prepper An excellent opportunity for a skilled Paint Shop Preparation Technician / Prepper to join a manufacturing environment, preparing high-value components for coating using shotblasting and surface preparation techniques while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. If you’ve also worked in the following roles, we’d also like to hear from you: Shotblaster, Paint Shop Labourer, Manufacturing Paint Shop Operative, Surface Treatment Technician, Qua… This is a quality-focused manufacturing role where documentation, inspection discipline and clear escalation protect the customer and the production process. Candidates should expect close work with production, engineering and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-process, final or release checks according to the source advert and site procedures
• Record inspection results, deviations and non-conformances accurately
• Use measuring, laboratory or test equipment relevant to the product and industry
• Support root-cause investigations and containment activity when defects are found
• Work with production teams to maintain standards without slowing the line unnecessarily
• Keep quality records audit-ready and escalate out-of-specification results promptly

Requirements

• Quality, inspection, laboratory or technical experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good written documentation habits and attention to detail
• Able to follow controlled procedures and understand why traceability matters
• Comfortable challenging product quality issues professionally on the shop floor
• Industry-specific standards such as GMP, BRC, ISO 9001, AS9100 or IPC are useful where relevant
